Our Omakase Private Journeys are designed to take you only to the places you want to go, at a time and place that best suits you: just you, your companion(s), and your private guide or private driver, who will assist you in getting the most out of your vacation. This option is ideal for travelers who desire a lot of flexibility on their trip. We provide the hotels and a private guide to help you navigate Japan, but you get to decide what to do each day. Whether you are feeling adventurous and want to explore the city, or spend time learning the culture of Japan with your guide, the choice is yours.
We understand that once you arrive to Japan, you may want to visit particular sites that you did not initially plan before, or perhaps you changed your mind. Maybe you are too tired from walking around the day before and don't want to feel obligated to visit a pre-paid attraction. Omakase Japan Private Journeys are perfect for travelers searching for more freedom during their Japan trip, but with the convenience of hotels and a private guide taken care of. Since this journey plan is so flexible, please note that entrance fees are not included, as well as transportation, toll, and parking fees.

Itinerary can be planned in advance, or you can discuss with your tour guide for what to do based on your interest during your trip
Only hotels and guides (private car on select tours) are included. Taxi fares, bus, subway, train and ferry tickets(for your group and guide) are NOT included. Toll & parking fees are NOT included while using private car. You ONLY need to pay for the expenses you used during your trip.
All entry fees are NOT included
Airport meet and greet as well as return airport transfers are NOT included unless requested.
Ordinary class JR passes and separate luggage transfers are included on select tours (first class JR passes can be arranged upon request.)
Accomodations centrally located near stations and sights
Lunches and dinners are NOT included, tour guide will give suggestions and recommendations for restaurants
When you contact us through e-mail or phone, we will discuss the type of trip and services you're interested in. There are many things to consider when planning your trip to Japan, such as your travel date, length of stay, destination cities, points of interest, and budget. Based on this information, we will create an initial “sketch” itinerary that includes an outline of recommended travel routes, destinations, accommodations, transportation type, and services we can provide.
If you're not sure which Japan tour is for you, many of our clients select one of our existing Omakase Private Journeys, Japan by Rail Private Journey & Luxury Private Journey itineraries and modify it according to their interests and budget. Other clients have their own ideas about what to see and do, or even a specific itinerary in mind. Please have a look through some of the itineraries for inspiration. We had the absolute best trip ever and tour guide, Kevin, is phenomenal. Yes, we did have an initial mishap when we didn't see our driver when we landed at the aiport but AJT definitely came through with an amazing tour guide, itinerary, excellent hotels and drivers. Excellent stewardship from registration for the trip, during and until the completion of this marvelous second visit to Japan. I highly recommend All Japan Tours.
