Room Type Explained

Single Room

Single room types are rooms for single room occupants.
One person will be occupying the hotel room throughout the tour.

Twin Room

Twin room types are rooms set for two people who will occupy one room, but will have two separate beds.

Double Room

A double room is a room that has one bed for two people to share.

Triple Room

A triple room is one room where three people may share the same room. It has three separate beds.

Japanese Style Room

A Japanese-style room traditionally does not have a western-style bed, it is a tatami floor room with futon bedding. However, if you prefer a western-style bed, you may request one though we cannot guarantee it.

Please note: If you would like to request neighboring rooms next to your traveling companions, you and your traveling companions must have the same room types in order to be next to each other. For example, if you have requested a double room, but your traveling companions have requested a twin, or triple room, then neighboring rooms cannot be accommodated. However, if both you and your traveling companions match in room type, then neighboring rooms will likely be arranged for your convenience.

Day1

Welcome to Osaka!

Upon arrival to Osaka Itami or Kansai Airport, proceed through customs and meet your guide just outside the exit gate; they will be holding an “All Japan Tours” sign for easy visibility. Proceed to your hotel via private coach. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will be free for leisure.

Day2

Kyoto

Today, we will visit the Nishiki Market. This narrow shopping street, commonly referred to as 'Kyoto's Kitchen,' is filled with more than 100 restaurants and shops showcasing Kyoto specialties such as Japanese sweets, pickles, dried seafood, and sushi. The shops sell all kinds of food-related items – from top-of-the- line knives and cookware to tempting seafood and produce. We will then visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, renowned for its trail of thousands of torii gates. Next, you will enjoy a relaxing Green Tea Ceremony. This activity was once only available for the social elite. Today, it will be even more special as your host will be an apprentice Geisha, known as a Maiko. Tour Kiyomizu-dera, a famous temple in Japan that is best known for its large wooden stage that overlooks a hillside of natural scenery. We will end our day in the Gion Geisha District, where its streets are lined with ochaya (teahouses), exclusive establishments where guests are entertained by Geisha and Maiko.

Day3

Kyoto

Continue to explore Kyoto, traveling to Nijo Castle, a designated UNESCO world heritage site and a perfect architectural example of castles from the feudal era of Japan. While at the Nishijin Textile Center, you can view displays of kimonos and watch the Nishijin Kimono fashion show. Visit Kinkaku-ji, the Golden Pavilion, so known because it is covered with 18-karat gold leaf. This three-story structure was originally built by the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu in 1397. Then we will tour the Arashiyama district. First is a visit to see Tenryuji Temple where you can catch a glimpse of the traditional landscape garden design. Then proceed through a dense bamboo grove, past several small shrines, tea shops, and private houses before arriving at the Togetsukyo Bridge over Hozu River.

Day4

Kyoto - Nara - Osaka

Today, we will travel to the ancient capital of Nara to visit the Kofuku-ji Temple, a family temple to the Fujiwara clan during the ancient period of Japan. This is also the site of the 2nd tallest five story pagoda in Japan. Then, we will visit one of Japan’s most famous temples and a landmark of Nara, Todaiji Temple. Outside the temple, interact with the wild deer of Nara Deer Park. There are special deer crackers available at every corner of the area. Our last destination for the day will be Kasuga Grand Shrine, the family shrine for the powerful Fujiwara clan during the Nara and Heian periods, with unique architectural traits and an area filled with various styled lamps.

Day5

Osaka

In the morning, visit Osaka Castle – built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in aims for it to be the center of a new, unified Japan. Then, visit the largest skyscraper in off Japan: Abeno Harukas. Here, you can visit the department store, art museum, or observation deck for a view of the city. Enjoy a Tombori River Cruise where you can get views of Dontonbori and learn fun facts about the city. Lastly, make your way to the colorful, neon-lit entertainment district of Dotonbori. This area is popularly known for being the heart of the city, filled with eye- catching billboards and numerous restaurants.

Day6

Osaka - Kobe - Kobe Port

While in Kobe's Nada district, Japan's top sake producing region, we will visit the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery Museum – a traditional building on the large grounds of a modern sake factory. Sake tasting is available in the shop. Visit the traditional Japanese landscape garden of Sorakuen. The garden used to be part of the residence of Kodera Kenkichi, a former mayor of Kobe, but was opened to the public in 1941. In the Kitano-cho district, you can visit the “England House”. The house features English- style décor from the era of 1907 when it was built. There is also a large collection of Sherlock Holmes memorabilia, including a replica of Sherlock Holmes' room. In the afternoon, you will transfer to Kobe Port.
