Shiroi Koibito Park

Located in Sapporo, Shiroi Koibito Park (白い恋人パーク) is simultaneously a factory for confectionaries and a theme park. It is known for its white chocolate and famous souvenir cookies in Hokkaido. There are various indoor and outdoor activities and places to visit. There are floors to the park building; some are employed as hall displays, while the third floor remains as the factory area. Souvenir shops and café areas are part of free areas available for guests. Guests can enter the factory and see how cookies and candy are made by the Shiroi Koibito employees through the giant windows looking down to the workers stations. The factory tours also include a hands-on experience for guests to create and design their own cookies. The local chocolate factory also displays history of chocolate by going through an area call The Chocolate Time Tunnel.

On the second floor of the Entrepot Hall, there some antique cups displayed, which were used by aristocrats around the 18th century since chocolate was a popular drink. They showcase different collections from time to time. Also on the second floor of the Entrepot Hall is the Aurora Fountain. The fountain was made by England’s Royal Doulton Company around 1870. It is illuminated by lamps to enhance the water running from the top onto a colorful ceramic surface. Outside, visitors can also see the “Chocolate Carnival,” a parade of mechanical dolls which begins at the top of every hour, the “Shiroi Koibito Railway” trolley modeled after the Benkei steam locomotive, and the “Gulliver House” which children can enter and play.
